Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer was founded on October 29, 2004, in times of great restructuring, in compliance with the Science and Innovation Code of Republic of Moldova, with the main objective to coordinate, stimulate and implement the mechanisms of innovation and technology transfer in Moldova. Therefore, the Agency of Innovation and Technology Transfer serves as an intermediary between scientists, on one hand, and public authorities, entrepreneurs on the other hand, their collaboration being implied by the challenges of the modern world and commitments undertaken by Republic of Moldova towards the international community.

In order to enhance the process of adapting to the standards of the European Union, an area where innovation is the main driver of socio-economic development, AITT has the goal to enable the fast implementation of innovations and transfer of advanced technologies into the production process, bringing its contribution to the modernization of the Moldovan economy, socio-economic growth of the country and increase in life quality here.

On the basis of its main objectives and functions established in consent with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, in accordance to the Law on Science and Technology Parks and Innovation Incubators, there have been created several science and technology parks and innovation incubators, which represent the best solution for domestic companies, as they offer a series of strategic and logistics services in order to reach prosperity.

Currently, there function three Science and Technology Parks and three Innovation Incubators:

• The Science and Technology Park “Academica” with an universal specialization; it includes 24 residents;
• The Science and Technology Park “Inagro” specialized in intensive and ecological agriculture; it includes 13 residents;
• The Science and Technology Park “Micronanoteh” specialized in microelectronics and nanotechnologies;
• Innovation Incubator “Innovator”, with an universal specialization; it includes 4 residents;
• Innovation Incubator “Politehnica”, specialized in engineering, industrial and informational technologies; selection of residents is currently taking place;
• Innovation and Education Incubator “Universcience”, specialized in capitalization of intellectual, innovation and education capacities.
